Top Mental Health Influencers of 2025

The internet has enabled mental health professionals and advocates from around the world to create helpful content — from blogs about coping with depression to TikTok videos about what it’s like to live with an anxiety disorder. This information can potentially reach —and help— millions of people around the world. 

Here are the mental health thought leaders that are providing information and raising awareness about mental heath. Check out their social media accounts for inspiration and humor. 

#1 Dr Jake Goodman

Dr. Jake Goodman is a psychiatry resident with more than 2 million followers on social media. He educates his followers on schizophrenia, seasonal depression, and other mental health issues.  Dr. Goodman has been featured in Men’s Health and other prominent publications. Dr. Goodman is also a two-time TEDx speaker. Additionally, he is active in the fight against mental health discrimination. Many doctors are reluctant to open up about mental health issues. However, Dr. Goodman has talked openly on social media about his own struggle with depression.

Besides social media, Dr. Tracy is the founder of the Exist Centers in California, which provides rehabilitation and outpatient treatment.  Dr. Courtney talks openly on social media about her own personal struggle with one of the most stigmatized mental illnesses there is — borderline personality disorder (BPD). Dr. Brené Brown was probably one of the first mental health thought leaders on the scene. She is a research professor at the University of Houston. Her areas of expertise include shame, courage, empathy, and vulnerability.  Additionally, Brown has had six #1 New York Times bestsellers and even hosts two weekly podcasts on Spotify. There has even been a Netflix documentary about her called The Call to Courage

She is also a content creator with more than 1 million social media followers across platforms.  Dr. Joseph has expertise in women’s health and frequently educates her audience on menopause-related issues. She is also the author of the book “High Functioning” and has a podcast on the site Let’s Talk Menopause
